Friday night brought everything you could want in a Mid-Am Racing Series showdown – comebacks, breakout performances, and a championship picture that’s slowly starting to shift. When it was all over, Josh Nelms parked it in Victory Lane and reminded everyone he’s not done yet.

For Nelms, this win was more than just another trophy. After a DNF in the season opener, he’s been digging himself out of a hole. Every win and every lap led is tightening the battle, and Nelms is starting to close the gap.

Meanwhile, Scotty Gardner delivered a relentless charge through the field. After an early-race incident dropped him to the back, Gardner regrouped, methodically picked off cars one by one, and fought his way back to a hard-earned 2nd-place finish.

How about rookie Kyle Brick? Not only did he score his first podium with a 3rd-place finish, but he also captured the heat race win earlier in the night. Brick is proving that he’s not just learning—he’s competing, and the veterans are starting to notice.

Part-time contender Cody Clubb, with Stella calling the shots as crew chief, made every lap count. He fought his way to a strong 4th-place finish, proving once again that whenever Cody shows up, he’s a threat the field can’t ignore.

 Finally there is Connor Kosowski A part-time driver who spends his weekdays working as an engineer on Indy cars. Connor showed why he’s always a welcome addition to the field. Locked in a hard-fought battle until the very end, he brought home 5th place — and we’re always glad to have him racing with us.

This race had everything — comebacks, rookies stepping up, and part-timers proving they can hang with the best. The momentum is building, and the championship fight is heating up.
