Hear us out for a second.
We know the original plan for 2026 was to avoid running two events at the same track. That was the goal — until the right combination of timing, vision, and persuasion showed up courtesy of “Dr.” Steve Bechtel at Grundy County Speedway.
Sometimes plans change for the right reasons.
And this is one of those times.
This Isn’t Just Another Race Night
We don’t want this to be just another date on the schedule.
We’re tinkering. We’re experimenting. We’re building something with fans at the center of it.
Something interactive.Something different.Something that feels like a summer night you actually want to be part of.
On Saturday, August 15, we officially launch the inaugural Windy City Showdown — a brand-new marquee event designed to stand on its own.
Two Midwest Series. One Headline Event.
The Windy City Showdown will be anchored by two of the Midwest’s toughest touring divisions, teaming up to headline the night:
Mid-Am Racing Series
Midwest Truck Series
This pairing brings variety, intensity, and regional pride to one stage, creating a night built to entertain fans while delivering meaningful competition for teams.
Our Goal Is Simple
We’re not asking for blind buy-in.
Our goal is to:
Earn your support
Earn your excitement
Earn the right to make this a fan-favorite stop on the calendar
This event is being built deliberately — with input, creativity, and the freedom to try something new.
We’re Building Something Here
The Windy City Showdown is the start of something we believe can grow into a signature event.
Stick with us.Trust the process.
We think you’re going to like where this goes.
